Fearne wins Sony Radio Award!15th May 2012
Ever since receiving her first ever Sony Radio Award nomination after seven sensational years behind that mic, Radio 1 star Fearne has been "chuffed" to pieces.
And ahead of the ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel last night, Fearne blogged about about her big day, and how excited she was to be nominated in the Best Music Programme category against the likes of Steve Lamacq for BBC Radio 6 Music, Michael Bublé for Magic 105.4, In Tune on BBC Radio 3, In: Demand Scotland on Bauer Radio Scotland.
“I have never been nominated for a Sony Radio Award so am excited and feel like I’ve been accepted in to the radio fold at last after seven years of working at Radio 1,” she explained. “I’m chuffed to be nominated for my show! Should be a fun night!!”
And what a night it was!
Despite not being able to breath on her way to the do because of her glam bronze frock (totally worth it, by the way!), our shimmering show host was soon gasping for a different reason when she bagged the amazing award.
“Still can’t believe I won a Sony,” she tweeted. “Not sinking in. Thank you to all my lovely listeners and to all at radio1!”
“Me and my radio1 team last night,” she added later on in the eve, posting the pic above. “Still in shock.”
And here’s the award in all its gorgeous, shiny and ridiculously prestigious glory.
HUGE congrats Fearne!
Don't miss Fearne's Sony Award-winning show on weekdays at 10am on BBC Radio 1.
