Hackney: 'Loud and proud'!

26th June 2012

Hackney was as expected - massive, loud and proud.

I donned my trusty Converse and hoped for a lack of mud.

The site was huge and we even saw a bit of blue sky…

On Saturday I introduced Rizzle Kicks onto the stage. They said they were the most nervous they’ve ever been before a show. I stood side of stage with Ed Sheeran to watch their set...

That night, Greg and I hosted the BBC Three coverage, which was fun, but at times, rainy.

On Sunday I watched the magnificent Plan B’s homecoming Hackney Weekend gig:

That night, as the sun set, RiRi did her thing in spectacular style...

Greg, Gem and I watched on and said goodbye to a wonderful weekend of music and mad dancing.

If you were there, I hope you had a blast! If not, check out loads of footage on the Radio 1 website!

Peace and Love
