Buckingham Palace, 100th Birthday and Bublé!
2nd December 2011What a week! It’s been one of those weeks that felt like a weird dream after eating too much cheese before bed, perhaps.
First off, this week was the surreal magical visit to Buckingham Palace escorted by Phillip Schofield. (I told you it was like a weird dream...a good one)
Walking through the gates of the palace, which I have spent years looking at from the outside, was incredible. The inside looks like you’ve fallen in a jewellery box. It was dripping with gold and diamonds.
Meeting the Queen was a dream come true. I stuck to a simple "your majesty" (playing it safe) then performed a curtsy (yes of course I’ve practiced this at home for years hoping my day would come)
I also got to chat to the Prince of Wales, Camilla, Katherine (who is soooo beautiful up close) and had a nice catch up with Prince William. He said he thought I’d be rather good at flying a helicopter. I protested and informed him that I drive a mini!
Then it was straight over to the London Palladium for the Macmillan Cancer Support 100th birthday. So many brilliant performers attended the event that entertained an audience of people who do great work for Macmillan and people who have been helped by the wonderful Macmillan Charity.
We have announced some exciting news for next week’s show on Radio 1. Michael Bublé will be in the Live Lounge to kick of Christmas in smooth style on Thursday and JLS doing their thing in the live lounge Friday! YAYE!
Peace and Love
